情感体验的“扮演性书写”:“国乙Cos委托”研究

The “Performative Scripting” of Affective Experience:A Study of “Chinese Otome Game Cosplay Commission”

In recent years, “Chinese otome game Cosplay commission” has emerged as a novel socio-emotional practice among young people in China. Distinct from traditional Cosplay, it goes beyond merely replicating a virtual character' s appearance. Through its ritualized procedures, role-playing, and affective interactions, it translates virtual experiences into a temporary “space of intimate relationship” within reality. This study moves beyond the virtual-reality binary by introducing the concept of “performative scripting” to investigate the internal mechanisms of meaning-making and affective engagement. Our findings reveal that the practice' s core lies in the crafting of “moments”: through embodied performance and meticulous attention to detail, Cosplayers enable their clients to experience the character' s “tangible presence. ” The interplay between the publicly shared character settings and the personalized investment of individual emotions collaboratively generates unique emotional memories. Consequently, “Cosplay commission” is not a simple reproduction of the game but a creative practice. Within the framework of the character, it continuously generates new meanings, new relationships, and new selves through real-time physical and emotional interaction, thereby opening up a generative space between the virtual and the real.
