本文以2020年至2025年为时间框架,综述中国当代艺术批评在疫情、全球政治变动与媒介格局转型交织背景下的演化轨迹。五年间, 中国当代艺术批评生态经历了从“中心衰退”到“边界拓展”的转向,表现为写作者群体的代际更替、传统媒体权威的削弱,以及自组织写作与新媒体平台的兴起。批评逐渐从判断性文本转向关系性实践,从公共论辩退化为机构传播的附属,同时也在播客、社群与信件等多样化媒介中持续生成新的语言与判断方式。本文进一步讨论了“政治正确”与“伦理转向”在中国艺术语境中的复杂处境,指出批评需要重新承担“理解”与“判断”的双重责任。文章最后提出,未来的艺术批评将以分布式、多语言、多媒介的形式存在,不再是高于实践的理论系统,而是在与艺术共处与对话的过程中不断生成的判断与思考。
This paper reviews the transformation of Chinese contemporary art criticism between 2020 and 2025, against the backdrop of the pandemic, shifting global politics, and transformations in media landscapes During this time, the ecology of art criticism in China underwent a transition from “center decline” to “border expansion, ” marked by generational renewal among writers, the declining authority of traditional media, and the rise of self-organized writing and new media platforms. Criticism has gradually shifted from judgmental texts to relational practices, retreating from public debate to become ancillary to institutional dissemination, while simultaneously generating new forms of language and judgment through diverse media such as podcasts, communities, and correspondence. This paper also interrogates the intertwined issues of “political correctness” and “ethical judgment” in the Chinese context, arguing that criticism must not aim to cancel or comply but to cultivate understanding and discernment within tension and misunderstanding. It concludes that the future of criticism lies not in rebuilding systems or returning to academia, but in distributed, multi-temporal, multilingual practices—where writing, observation, and dialogue generate theory alongside artistic practice itself.
