| 摘要 | 前苏联艺术家伊利亚·卡巴科夫 (Ilya Kabakov) 在1992年的卡塞尔文献展外复刻了一个肮脏、简陋的前苏联旧式厕所, 引发了巨大的关注和争议。这件作品践行了卡巴科夫本人的“总体装置” (total installation) 理念, 这一理念与后殖民主义哲学家霍米·巴巴 (Homi K. Bhabha) 的“第三空间”理论相类似。本文将以1992年卡塞尔文献展的作品《厕所》为例, 探讨卡巴科夫的“总体装置”何以在当代艺术现场建构出“第三空间”, 实现卡巴科夫本人的乌托邦梦想。 |
| Abstract | In 1992, Soviet artist Ilya Kabakov created a dirty, crude and old Soviet-style. toilet at the Documenta exhibition in Kassel, sparking significant attention and controversy. This work embodied Kabakov' s concept of “total installation, ” a notion that resonates with postcolonial philosopher Homi K. Bhabha' s theory of the “third space. ” This paper will use Kabakov' s 1992 Documenta work The Toilet as a case study to explore how his “total installation” constructs a “third space” in the contemporary art scene, and try to realize Kabakov' s own utopian dream. |
