The systematic scientific identification and evaluation of agricultural heritage resources serve as an analytical approach to understanding the historical evolution of land use patterns dominated by agricultural development in a region over a specific time period (>100 years) . In response to the shift in research paradigms from isolated and random studies to regional and systematic approaches for the excavation, inheritance, protection, and utilization of agricultural heritage, this paper selects Ningxia in the upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin as a case study area. It conducts the identification and evaluation of agricultural heritage resources at the provincial scale using knowledge graphs. Utilizing the w3 software, the study obtained 79 categories and 323, 463 pieces of basic information from 297 agricultural heritage resource sites in Ningxia. It extracted entry data covering 9 major categories of heritage resources and 2, 381 subcategories, as well as 93, 568 agricultural heritage knowledge graph triplets. The analysis identified the structural composition of elements, spatial distribution patterns, functional value characteristics, and existing issues of agricultural heritage resources in the Ningxia region. Based on this, the study proposed improvement strategies to optimize the spatial distribution for the protection and inheritance of regional agricultural heritage resources and enhance the efficiency of their development and utilization. This provides a scientific foundation for constructing a systematic framework, model pathways, and operational systems for the protection and development of agricultural heritage at the provincial level.
