The research and practice on political identity in cyberspace have received extensive attention from the academic community. This paper takes 2, 212 CSSCI and Peking University core journal articles in CNKI from 2015 to 2025 as samples and uses CiteSpace visualization analysis to systematically sort out the research context of political identity in cyberspace. The findings show that the current research displays an upward trend, but the research efforts are scattered and have not yet formed a strong cooperation. The current research hotspots follows three main threads: “core areas of cyberspace governance, ” “macro context and consciousness, ” and “practice scenarios and development. ” The research trend extends from domestic cyberspace to the global governance landscape, forming an integrated research paradigm of “technologyidentity- governance”. It focuses on the internal logic linking the digital space governance system and the political identity cultivation, as well as the application of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data in improving governance efficiency and the generation mechanisms, expression forms, and evolutionary patterns of political identity in new digital scenarios.
