In the current era, characterized by the profound interweaving of the digital economy and globalization, the global labor market is grappling with a severe unemployment conundrum. The quality of youth employment has emerged as a pivotal concern at the national strategic echelon. Social security, as a pillar of the socio-economic system, necessitates an in-depth exploration of its intrinsic relationship with youth job satisfaction. This research is firmly grounded in the CSS2023 data and selected 1, 492 youth samples within the 18-44-year-old employment-age bracket. Employing SPSS26. 0, we constructed a multiple linear regression model, and utilized PROCESS4. 1 to conduct mediating effect tests. Through these methods, we delved into the underlying mechanisms governing the relationships among social security, the sense of social equity, life stress, and youth job satisfaction. Our findings indicate that social security exerts a discernibly positive influence on youth job satisfaction. Specifically, both social security and the sense of social equity have a positive impact on youth job satisfaction, whereas life stress has a negative one. Moreover, the sense of social equity and life stress both play a partial mediating role in the influence of social security on youth job satisfaction. Theoretically, this study enriches and broadens the theoretical architecture associated with social security and job satisfaction. Practically, it furnishes policymakers with robust scientific evidence and actionable guidelines. This enables them to refine social security policies, foster a social ecological environment that upholds fairness and justice, effectively mitigate the life stress of the youth, and thereby enhance the quality of youth employment and job satisfaction. In turn, this contributes to the sustained development and evolution of society towards a more harmonious and stable state.
