Research on the Development and Practice of the School-based Curriculum “Small Stories,Great Ideological and Political Education”:An Innovative Education Path for Morality and the Rule of Law in Primary Schools

Against the backdrop of the deepening reform. of ideological and political education in primary schools in the new era, traditional ideological and political classrooms face three major challenges: theoretical abstraction, serious atmosphere, and homogeneous content, which seriously undermine the practical effectiveness of the fundamental task of nurturing morality and fostering talent. Taking Hukou County No. 5 Primary School as a practical case, this study, based on three theoretical foundations of narrative moral education, embodied cognition, and cultural capital, systematically constructs a four-dimensional content system including red stories, contemporary stories, traditional stories, and everyday stories. It innovatively proposes a closed-loop teaching model of “selecting-telling-reflecting-practicing”. Through multiple methods such as literature review, action research, case analysis, and empirical data analysis, this study systematically demonstrates the unique value of storytelling in solving the pain points of ideological and political education. Practice shows that this curriculum not only significantly improves students' interest in ideological and political learning and their core literacy, but also builds a new pattern of collaborative education of “school leadership, family participation, and community engagement”. This study has explored and initially formed a set of logically coherent, operable, and replicable curriculum practice solutions, aiming to provide a reference for the reform. of primary schools’ “Morality and the Rule of Law” course.
