Using CiteSpace software to visualize and explore the core academic journal literature, a global presentation was made of the historical changes in the content research on the theme of geography teaching and learning in China in the new century. It has been observed that the key themes in high school center around secondary school geography teaching, strategy, geography classroom, geography instructional design, and disciplinary core literacy. A notable shift in content research has occurred, evolving from an initial emphasis on classroom design objectives to a focus on nurturing students' literacy and competence. Furthermore, alterations in external learning resources and environments are promoting the integration of geography teaching and learning research with multidisciplinary fields, facilitating utilization studies.
