With the advancement of social transformation and the saturation of the job market, the competition among college students has intensified. The excessive focus on GPA in universities has led to inefficient academic competition, a prominent feature of involution. In this process, students neglect the deep exploration of knowledge and truth, undermining the true purpose of higher education. This study analyzes the phenomenon and causes of college students involution from three dimensions: society, schools, and individuals. The primary causes include fierce employment competition, rigid institutional and evaluation mechanisms in universities, and the lack of personal career planning among college students. Based on this, solutions are proposed: promoting labor market reforms and improving employment environments at the societal level; encouraging universities to advocate positive values and play a guiding role; and helping students clarify their development goals and enhance career planning.
