With the development of the social economy and the progress of the medical industry, the mental health issues of nursing college students are increasingly receiving attention. This study used a questionnaire survey method to collect 217 valid samples and comprehensively analyzed the mental health status of nursing college students. The research results show that most students suffer from significant psychological pressure, mainly from learning, internships, and employment, and they exhibit diverse emotional responses and coping strategies when dealing with stress. Furthermore, this study delved into various factors that affect the mental health of nursing college students, including social identity, family environment, school education, and student characteristics. Social biases and misunderstandings, family economic status and parental support, school education environment and teaching staff, as well as students' own personality traits and coping styles with stress, all affect students' mental health to varying degrees. On this basis, this study proposes a targeted path for mental health education. Nursing vocational colleges should strengthen mental health education, optimize the curriculum system and teaching methods, establish a sound mechanism for internship and employment guidance, and deepen cooperation between families and schools to jointly promote the development of students' mental health. By offering mental health education courses, establishing psychological counseling rooms, providing abundant internship opportunities and employment guidance services, and strengthening communication and cooperation between families and schools, schools can effectively enhance students' psychological quality and help them better cope with stress and challenges. These measures not only help improve students' mental health level, but also cultivate more high-quality nursing talents with good psychological qualities for the nursing industry, promoting the healthy development of nursing education.
